FOR THE 65^TH DOBBIN FAMILY REUNION

IN THE YEAR 2021

The Dobbin Family Reunion Planning Committee seeks Feedback and Suggestions from all Adult Family Members as we BEGIN planning the 65^th Dobbin Family Reunion Celebration in 2021.  Your Feedback and Suggestions will allow the Planning Committee to plan a Celebration that all can enjoy.  The survey was provided at the 63rd Reunion but if you did not get a chance to complete the survey, please use the following link (click here) to download the survey and send your responses (as an attachment) to dobbinfamilyreunion@gmail.com.

The family reunion information letter hinted at a "Special Project” to be presented by our Education, History & Preservation Committee. That "Special Project" is a video presentation featuring several of the older members of our family. The video is titled Traditions: The Dobbin Family Legacy. The EH&P committee interviewed the following second generation descendants of Emory and Patsy Dobbin: Charles Dobbin, Wilmer Dobbin Smith, Verlina Dobbins Simmons, Randall (Bobby) Dobbins  and James (Sonny) Dobbins. They shared their lifetime of experience, wisdom and family history. The video is a 60 minute production that was created from over 13 hours of raw footage. After the premiere viewing, family members will be able to purchase the video as well the raw footage at the following rates ....

Edited Video: $20 ~ You can choose the following methods...flash drive (preferred) or DVD.

Unedited video footage: $40 ~ You can choose the following methods...flash drive (preferred) or DVD.

**This includes the raw footage of all participants.**

The Reunion Planning Committee is hard at work with the final details for the 63rd Descendants of Emory and Patsy Dobbin Reunion. In preparation for the reunion, we will have two set-up events...

Friday, July 19 at 11:30 am

Saturday, July 20 at 8:00 am ** The official start time for the reunion is 11:00 am.

If you are available at either times, we would greatly appreciated any assistance with set-up ( carnival, table clothes, etc.).

I hope that everyone is looking forward to the 63rd Descendants of Emory and Patsy Dobbin Family Reunion.   At this point, all meal tickets sales are closed in order for us to provide the caterer with a final head count.  In addition, Eventbrite is closed except for family donations to allow us time to finalize the tickets for the reunion.

On the day of the Reunion, Saturday, July 20, 2019, non-meal tickets ($16.00) and raffle tickets ($5.00) will be available at the door.

Ticket Prices for the 63rd Descendants of Emory and Patsy Dobbin Family Reunion

$30.00 for ages 13 and up

$25.00 for ages 6-12

No charge for ages 5 and under

The deadline for these prices is June 30, 2019. 

From June 30 - July 6, tickets are

$35.00 for ages 13 and up 

$30.00 for ages 6-12 

no charge for ages 5 and under.

July 6, 2019 is the final deadline for purchasing tickets that include the meal.

There will be NO meal tickets sold at the door; however, family members may still fellowship but need to pay $16.00 per person to help cover the facility rental.

Reunion Saturday, July 20, 2019

Location: Johnston County Agricultural Center, 2736 NC 210 Highway, Smithfield, NC 27577

 Time: 11 am to 4 pm

     Theme: “Fun Carnival”

     There will be games and activities for everyone (young and old).  You are encouraged to       come prepared to participate with comfortable clothes and shoes.  There may be some         water events so younger children may need a change of clothes.

    “A Special Project” will be presented by our Historical,  Education & Preservation         

     Committee. This project is the result of several months of hard work, travel and a team        effort. The premiere will be at our 63^rd family reunion. You do not want to miss this              lifetime in the making event.

       Lunch Menu:  Baked Chicken, Fried Chicken, Fried Fish, Succotash, Rice and Gravy, Hush 

       Puppies, Toss Salad with Dressings, Dinner Rolls, Sweet Tea, Lemonade and Assorted        

       Desserts. The family will be tipping for the service and servers.

       Evening Entertainment – “An Evening of Dobbin Swag”

       Time: 7 pm – 10 pm; Dress Attire: Casual

       Come prepared to share your hidden talent with the family.

Reunion Sunday. July 21, 2019

     The family will worship at an area church (to be announced later) with ties to the Dobbin        Family.  The family will make a donation to the visited church in the name of the            

     "Descendants of Emory and Patsy Dobbin".  Family fellowship will continue after 

      worship at a designated area restaurant (everyone will be responsible for their meal).
